Once again, the tour operators didn't follow the planned itinerary, or Civitatis provided incorrect itineraries. In this case, we booked this excursion because the visit to Salto del Limón was in the morning, and it didn't mention that it would be done on horseback. Well, in the afternoon, we were on horseback. The guide never connected with the group and instead focused on chasing after those who decided not to tip the horses—something Civitatis doesn't mention anywhere. The minibuses used for transportation were old and in pretty bad condition.

Translate this opinion into English.

But with the clarification that in our case they picked us up at 6 am and we returned to the hotel at 8 pm. All that travel is tiring, although Samaná and the lemon are worth it... But in my case, at almost 65 years old, I arrived tired. Opinion translated. Show original.

They are not clear about the times for each leg of the journey (they say 30 minutes and it takes 1 hour, that's how the whole journey was) and the time to enjoy in the two places to visit is very short

Fatal!!!

Awful!!! It rained all day, the sea was in terrible condition from the moment I arrived until I got on the bus. My clothes, towels, absolutely everything was soaked, and they couldn't even cancel the trip. Then, to top it all off, the air conditioning on the bus was blasting!!! I go on vacation to enjoy myself, and that's not what happened...

Schedules are not respected; this disregard creates chaos as people try to adhere to them, leading to frustration. Everything is rushed and without time. Food is scarce and served without sufficient time. The catamaran is more like a boat. Unnecessary stops on the return trip cause people to arrive late to other scheduled activities.

I booked a tour to see the city of Samaná and ended up spending the whole day on an island. We were told they would pick us up at 5 pm, but they didn't arrive until after 6 pm. The guide was aggressive and inappropriate when we asked him to explain how the tour would continue. I've traveled to many countries and I've never had such a bad experience.

The planning for pickups and transport is a disaster; there's no organization and everything is out of control. But honestly, the guide has very little patience and the service is poor.

My comment is sincere; personally, I don't think it's worth the price. I feel we wasted too much time whale watching, and we didn't even see them properly! When they asked if we wanted to leave, 80% of the group wanted to go because many people were vomiting and feeling seasick, but one family wanted to stay, so we did. I can't write more because of the character limit.

If your goal isn't to visit the waterfall by exploiting emaciated horses that will barely carry you through a muddy, undulating path guided by a local who will ultimately ask for a tip, then this isn't the activity for you. If you only booked the visit to Cayo Levantado, be aware that they'll include you in the waterfall excursion without offering an alternative and leaving you waiting for two hours in a restaurant until everything is over. On top of that, the time they give you afterward on the beach (the most worthwhile part) is only 1.5 hours.

Translate this opinion into English.

We apologize if any aspect of the organization could have been better. We appreciate and have taken note of your comments to continue improving, including in this area. Opinion translated. Show original.
