The Most Complete Tulum Day Trip
After meeting at the spot in Playa del Carmen that works best for you, we'll kick off this complete day trip to Tulum, featuring Mayan ruins, a cenote, and a garden full of amazing sculptures. Ready?
First, we'll head to the Ahau Tulum Sculpture Garden, an incredible outdoor space home to the Ven a la Luz sculpture by South African artist Daniel Popper. Did you know this piece represents the relationship between humans and nature? You'll have 1 hour to stroll around the area.
Next, we'll make our way to the Tulum Archaeological Zone, where we'll spend 2 hours exploring these Mayan ruins, set in a stunning spot overlooking the Caribbean Sea. You'll be amazed by how well preserved this site is!
After exploring the Mayan ruins of Tulum, we'll head to a local restaurant for a buffet lunch featuring traditional dishes from the region. With our appetites satisfied, we'll make our way to a crystal-clear cenote.
There, you'll have 2 hours of free time to swim in the turquoise waters of this sacred site. During your visit, you'll learn about the importance of protecting natural resources, as well as the area's native plants and wildlife.
Finally, we'll take you back to the starting point in Playa del Carmen, wrapping up the day trip after 10 hours in total.
One of Tulum's Best Cenotes
Tulum's cenotes have become a must for anyone visiting this town on the Caribbean coast of the Yucatán. These deep natural wells are fed by filtered rainwater and underground rivers. Did you know there are over 10,000 in this region alone? It's impossible to see them all!
On this day trip, we'll visit one of the best cenotes in Tulum: the Casa Tortuga cenote, easily one of the most beautiful in the area. Besides swimming and snorkeling during your free time, you'll also get to see the chechén and chacá, 2 trees considered sacred by the Mayans.
