Bursa Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul and head to the city’s harbour, where we’ll board a ferry to set sail southwards.
After a 2-hour crossing of the Sea of Marmara, we’ll arrive at the port of Yalova. As soon as we disembark, we’ll board a vehicle which, after an hour’s drive, will take us to Çumalıkızık. This village, situated on the outskirts of Bursa, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll wander through its picturesque narrow streets!
Next, we’ll leave this beautiful village behind and set off on a tour of Bursa. Our first stop will be at Tophane Park, where we’ll see the tombs of Osman Gazi and Orhan Gazi: the founders of the Ottoman Empire.
We’ll continue our tour of Bursa by visiting the Grand Mosque (Ulu Cami), famous for its 20 domes and its enormous indoor fountain. We’ll also admire the intricate calligraphy that makes this place a masterpiece of Islamic architecture.
Our tour will then take us through the Grand Bazaar and Koza Han, the Silk Market. After visiting various stalls, we’ll head to a local restaurant to enjoy an authentic traditional Turkish lunch.
After lunch, we’ll head to the cable car station to take the cable cars up to Mount Ulu Dag. From its summit, considered the ancient Mount Olympus of the Mysia region, we’ll enjoy some extraordinary panoramic views of Bursa. Time for photos!
After taking in the scenery, we’ll head to a local factory in the area to see how authentic Turkish delicacies are made and to sample some of them.
Finally, we’ll drive back from Bursa to your hotel in Istanbul, where we’re due to arrive 13 hours after collection.
