We'll kick off this free tour of Cáceres, diving into the historic center to uncover the rich legacies left behind by Muslims, Jews, and Christians in this UNESCO World Heritage city.
Our route starts with a glimpse at two significant Christian landmarks in Cáceres: the Concatedral de Santa María, the most important Christian church in the city. It was built in the medieval period as one of the four parish churches of the historic town.
We'll explore the defensive past of Cáceres by admiring its Almohad wall and historic gates, such as the iconic Arco de la Estrella. Cáceres is also a land of powerful lineages, something we'll see when we admire the exteriors of such emblematic palaces as the Palacio de los Golfines de Abajo, linked to the Catholic Monarchs.
During the walking tour, we'll also discover corners that showcase the city's evolution to the present day, understanding how the blending of cultures has forged Cáceres' identity.
Finally, after 2 to 2.5 hours of exciting exploration, we'll finish the tour in the center of Cáceres.
